About Us

Summit Rock Cattle and Game is situated in Gauteng at the foot of the Suikerbosrand ridge in the farming community of Heidelberg, a mere stone’s throw from the Gauteng-Mpumalanga borderline.  The Suikerbosrand River, that gets its name from the Transvaal suikerbos or sugarbush that is found in abundance here, forms the northern border of the farm.

The Summit Rock Brangus stud was established in 2013 by Armand Fourie. Having owned a couple of dairy cows as a young school boy, he was ready to try his hand at beef cattle farming. Through extensive research he discovered the Brangus breed, known for its structural soundness and docile temperament, hardiness, adaptability, high fertility, low birth weight and excellent feed conversion. Furthermore, Brangus beef is reliably tender and marbled, and prized by meat lovers throughout the world. Armand purchased his first Brangus cows in 2013 from a retired Brangus stud breeder and ever since the Summit Rock herd has grown exponentially.

At Summit Rock Cattle and Game, we apply the latest technology and research to raise a boutique stud that allows buyers to have their pick of genetics. Our aim is to breed geographically adaptable cattle and to continually improve our herd genetics by introducing semen from international champion bulls.

Summit Rock Cattle and Game is a member of the Mpumalanga Brangus Club and a member of the Brangus Cattle Breeders’ Society.
